This is going to be a long entry. With pictures.

I haven't been writing as frequently as before. Work was starting to pile up in the office, with a major project to do, that will probably last me till the end of my internship. A daily meeting with two of my supervisors is scheduled for now. Sigh. Good and bad.

Some highlights of this week:

1. Saturday with the Girlies!

Met up with Jiamin and Shireen. Gillian joined us for a while too. The last time I saw Jiamin was November the 6th. To have a small celebration for her birthday.

We had a short dinner at Dome, catching up with one another. Sorry for having to leave early. Will catch up with you two another time okay?

It was really nice to see you two, especially when it reminds me of the days when the three of us hung out during jc days.

It has been some time since the three of us took pictures together. Remember the neoprints we took some years back?

Met up with Gina after that to pass her The Da Vinci Code and to shop at M)phosis. Didn't get anything though.

2. Final Theory test (Friday)

I took half-day leave from work today. I went to sit for my driving - final theory test.

My colleague dropped me off at Buona Vista station after our lunch cum meeting at Dover Market. (near Fairfield) It was my first time at Dover Market.

I went home. I napped for fifteen minutes before my test. Fifteen minutes makes a big difference, you know? I learnt of this during my CIP trip in China. Power nap, they call it. When I woke up, it started raining heavily. Oh no, not a good sign. I couldn't walk to the driving school.

Reached the school, feeling uncomfortable. Feet wet and dirtied by the rain water. Fifteen minutes to the test time. Look for the venue, caught a signboard. Okay, level two. Need IC or passport. Student pass should be okay? Went up, the room was almost full. Didn't know people were so punctual. Took out my student pass and passed it to the checker.

Checker: "I am sorry. You need to produce your IC or passport."
Me: "Is the student pass allowed?"
Checker: "No."
Me: "But I applied for the test using my student pass!"
Checker: "It is stated on the test instructions that you need to produce your IC."
Me: "But I don't have my IC."
Checker: "Then do you have your passport?"
Me: *duh* "No.."
Checker: *I am sorry but I can't help you*

I walked off, feeling rather helpless. Raining. Never bring IC. Fated not to pass the test? Fifteen minutes remaining to my test time and I couldn't possibly go home and get my IC. It was raining heavily too.

Called my mummy.

Me: "Hello mummy. I can't take the test. I don't have my IC."
Mummy: "Then how?"
Me: "I don't know."
Mummy: "How long more to your test time?"
Me: "Fifteen more minutes."
Mummy: "Okay. Didi will bring it to you now."

My saviour. My beloved brother. He sprinted all the way from home to the school. In the rain. He was panting heavily when he passed me my passport. He took only ten minutes to reach me.

I went up to the room. The checker was gone. The examiner was there. Everyone started. It wasn't even 3:30 pm yet. The examiner didn't even check my passport.

But, he was the nicest examiner I have ever met in the driving school. He helped me keyed in my code needed to access the terminal and taught me how to use the touch screen. He was comical.

I settled down, waiting for my heart to resume to its normal beat. I glanced around; everyone was at question twenty odd, while I was still at zero. And there was this irritating lady A who was tapping the screen very loudly.

The tattooed uncle beside me was nice and funny. When A left (she finished it in ten minutes or so), he was telling me that people who tapped loudly can passed. The guy sitting two seats away from me left. He failed.

Tattooed uncle passed. Before leaving, he wished me luck, and told me he took five times before passing.

The young chap B beside me was still doing. I was finishing too. B checked once again. So I followed suit. Along the way, I changed a few of my answers. B passed.

I prayed. I pressed the “end test” button. It was a spilt second of hope.

Before leaving, I asked the examiner whether there was anything that I was supposed to do, because I wasn't around to listen to the instructions just now. He was really nice.

I left the venue, a happy girl. :))

I have this silly habit. I will want to wear red for exams/test/anything important. I believe it will bring me luck. But I wore Mickey for my theory test. It brought me luck too. And not without stares from many people too. Twenty-two years old cannot wear Mickey huh? I love Mickey. LOL.

3. Lunch Date! (Thursday)

Met up with Shufen and Peijuan for lunch at Holland Village. It was an impromptu decision. Simin - you would have like this (read: impromptu). Crystal Jade once again. Over the span of six years, underneath everything, we are still very much the same I guess. Shufen will still be the one - always laughing and talking, there won't be a moment of silence with her around. Peijuan will be the one listening, most of the time laughing at the silly actions and things that Shufen will say, but occasionally, say things that make us look at her and wonder why she would say those stuff and we will laugh louder than ever. Lunch was spent talking about some secondary school stuff and classmates.

4. Dinner Date! (Thursday)

Dinner was at Far East's Hans with Peiyu and Joanna. Though it was the first time meeting Joanna (as in formally sitting down and talking to her), I find it comforting. A good start to the project yeah? But too bad we didn't discuss much about the project, but instead updated one another with details about our internships and so. Too bad it was Thursday, so we couldn't stay out that late. Meet on Friday the next time round okay?

Some highlights of last week:

5. Dinner Date! (Thursday)

Dinner was at HV Crystal Jade with dearest Gillian. The last time both of us went there, was the time when we tried to mug? I think so. That was some years ago! Here are photos of us that were taken the previous time:

When I was still slim and Gillian had a cute hairstyle which she didn't really like. Gillian says I look pretty in this photo 'cos I was smiling very naturally. I think I look pretty too. LOL. Those were the times yeah?

A totally unglam photo of me, looking like a frog.

6. The Newpaper Big Walk (Sunday)
The Newpaper Big Walk was an eye-opener. There was this man who was walking his balloon duck. Groups with banners and lion-dancers. I had the opportunity to attend this event with two of my very dearest best friends - Daphne and Gillian!

My lucky number tag. Big Walk tee design. It was free size. Too big. Covered my shorts.

All of us didn't sleep well the night before. I barely slept two hours. We look so tired, don't we?
Fa Lun Gong also came for the big walk. Ladies wearing chinese traditional costumes.Macs. Filled with people, who tired from the walk. And us, having breakfast before our walk.

That's all. :))
